Mailing list policy
Out of necessity we have to impose a few general rules about using the
mailing lists. By subscribing and posting to the list you are assumed to accept
these. While this sounds grave, in reality the policy should not stand in the
way of the interested NEdit user and/or developer. However, our policy is always
open to discussion
Firstly, the NEdit developers subscribe to both
discuss at nedit.org
and
develop at nedit.org,
either of which may be used for reporting bugs. If you're not sure, or you
think the report might be of interest to the general nedit user community,
send the report to
discuss at nedit.org.
If it's something obvious and boring, like we misspelled "anemometer"
in the
online help, send it to
develop at nedit.org.
If you don't want to subscribe to these lists, please use the Sourceforge
tracker.
Spam
On discuss and develop the amount of spam has reached such a level that all
traffic from nonmembers is summarily discarded.
On announce posts are accepted from a few origins, and all other mail is
discarded.
Other measures taken to reduce the risk of dubious material coming through
the list are a limit of 40KB on the message body, and the removal of any
attachments that are not one of the following MIME types:
multipart/mixed, multipart/alternative,
multipart/signed, text/plain, text/html, and
application/pgp-signature, where text/html is converted to
text/plain by the list software.
Cross posting
Since the developers either are subscribed to the discussion mailing list or
have very good reasons not to be, please do not cross post.
Contact
If you have problems with this policy, contact
joor at users.sourceforge.net,
or discuss your problems on the appropriate list.
