Paste problem with new Cygwin release.

Hello.
Recently I was away for a few months, and when I got back I rashly decided
to update my Cygwin installation.
Many thing broke, and I spent some time fixing them, eventually getting an
X system to run xterm.
(I can give details, but I don't think this list is the place.)

One problem remains obdurately recalcitrant: NEdit crashes when I use the
windows paste buffer.
I get the message:
assertion "!c->xlib.lock" failed: file
"/usr/src/ports/xorg/libxcb/libxcb-1.1-2/src/libxcb-1.1/src/xcb_xlib.c",
line 73

Pasting contents cut from another X app works just fine.

Over the 8 years I have been using NEdit on Cygwin the only serious
problems have all been Paste buffer related.
Most noticeably, the paste mechanism would stop working at unpredictable
intervals and need restarting to work again.
Has the Cygwin assert just caught the problem that was always present in
Cygwin?
Has anyone a fix for this?

Thanks,
Evan
