NEdit Open Source Initiative

We are considering implementing the latest version of NEdit 5.5 in our
AIX environment.   My question is in regards to this and future
releases. Are their any plans to have NEdit certified by the Open Source
Initiative? 
 
Regarding the executable releases - what procedure and/or who performs
the build for the AIX platform?
 
Is that person/organization available for direct contact if there are
issues?
