We are in Phase 2 of 11. Here are the headlines:

 1. Determine release-critical bugs
 2. Fix bugs
 3. Settings transition (updatePatternsTo5dot6() etc.)
 4. Prepare release documentation and binaries
 5. Update Changelog
 6. Branch BETA-5-6
 7. Release candidate Cycle
 8. Tag REL-5-6
 9. Create pre-builds
10. Post release announcement
11. Merge release branch back to MAIN

See above, we still need
- Fixes for some release-critical bugs (Priority 9 in the SF tracker),
- Settings transition,
- Update and prepare various documents,
- Update of website (now and during the RC and Release cycles),
- Find people doing pre-builds,
and some odds and ends.

Let me know if you want to help!
