Accents problem

   Hi,
   I sometimes use nedit to write a text file in french. I use letters
   with accents such as é or à.
   If I use the stable nedit 5.5 version from mirrors, I do not have any
   problem (I can't compile the nedit 5.5 version myself as it requires
   Open Motif versions 2.1.30 or 2.2.3 and I have the "Untested Open
   Motif Version 2.3.0" installed).
   I compiled the version from nedit-lastest-sources-HEAD.tar.gz
   successfully but I can't write any accent (I get stange characters
   instead). Should I use a special compile option to make it work ?
