New to nedit

Gary,
A simple test as always recommended with keystroke problems .. can you run
"xev" and check what X sees from your keystrokes ? And are all your other
text-input progs ok ? eg. the default AIX editor ? What does xmodmap say,
has something disabled/modified X key handling ?
