Beeps in nedit

Hi

I can't seem to get rid of all the beeps on Nedit in Linux.

OS: Red Hat Linux
Nedit 5.5.0
Shell bash/Tcsh

I have the bell set to off on my terminal, and do not hear any beeps if I
overdo backspace etc.,

But on Nedit I just can't turn this off. If I hit too many PgDowns, it beeps
on and on!

I have tried going to .nedit in my home directory and commenting out all the
beep() commands, but still have this beep coming up. Any clue how I can turn
this thing off? It is drving me and everyone around me nuts :( !
