Future of NEdit?

I seem to recall there being some general issues with clipboard
functionality in various programs, though I can't recall if I read
about it on this list or another. I think the problem was that some
users were running multiple programs on differing Toolkits, and many
times, each particular group of toolkit aficionados tends to have
their own way of "tweaking" the way X handles the clipboard. I do not
know if this is the case here. What tends to happen is that multiple
clipboard servers in the background start competing with each other
and creating incompatible conflicts. On the problem I read about in
OpenBSD, it was an issue between KDE's clipboard management, and
normal X programs, or, those not in the GTK camp. Maybe there is
something similar going on here?
