Future of NEdit?

In response to Joerg Fischer who elaborates about the technical background
of the environment in which Nedit is living: of course you are right. But
my point is that users shouldn't care about there being a Motif, a Lesstif
or whatever. I am talking about ordinary people, not technicians. Less
technical people should be able to easily install and use Nedit. They
should not notice a look-and-feel that is different from the other
programs that they are used to. How you accomplish that is not of their
concern, but if you want your program to be useful for many people, you
should look through the eyes of ordinary users. That was my whole point:
forget about technicalities, just make using Nedit simple and attractive.

As for Duane Clark's question why I find the open dialog clumsy: this is
really is a minor point, I regret that I mentioned it. It is just that the
dialog is somewhat "old-fashioned" and sometimes the last part of
directory names scrolls out of view. But as I said, this is point is
actually below the relevance threshold. I apologize.
