Future of NEdit?

Unfortunately, as I mentioned, with recent versions of Linux (at least 
64 bit Fedora 7, which is what I am running), statically linking against 
openmotif no longer works.

A couple data points... I have nedit running on FC 4 linked to 
openmotif, where it run flawlessly. But if I remotely display that onto 
my Fedora 7 64 bit system, it crashes upon copy/paste. And versions of 
nedit statically linked on other systems and run locally on F7 also do 
not work. These symptoms imply to me that an incompatibility has been 
introduced into the X server, perhaps in the port to 64 bits.

And on the F7 system, a locally compiled and run version of nedit 
against openmotif also does not work. Basically, I am stuck using 
lesstif, until someone with a lot more knowledge than me fixes something.
