I am using nedit 5.6 from CVS (from 11/10/2007).
I tried to add patch  mp050226-V3-1.tar.gz but I have many "Hunk FAILED".

I use the 3.1 version of the patch on the CVS version too.

I have looked throug the original patch from the SF patch page and the
current one I'm use, which applies cleanly.


   If you can send me the patch you use, it is great. I tried to correct
   by hand the "HUNK" stuff but I still have errors.

with a recent patch util, you can use the options
"--unified-reject-files --global-reject-file=mp.rejects" to get a nice
reject file, and apply these hunks by hand.


   my patch version does not accept these parameters.

IMHO the failed hunks are all trivial.

some notes to the patch itself:

I have new/extended rules for C, LaTeX, octave/matlab, Sh Ksh Bash,
and XML. If you are interested I can post it.

I think there are at least two problems:

1) it finds only the next opening " in C, not the previously one of an
closing ", but I don't use this much
2) it has some problems with opening parantheses in string constants
3) nedit sometimes craches, while editing matching patterns

beside these problems, which aren't really annoying for me, I'm vary
happy with this patch
