Well, Unix systems come neither with Open Motif (for legal reasons)
nor with Lesstif - they have (old) Motif versions installed.  The
problem for nedit on Linux nowadays is a switch to UTF-8 combined with
new X versions.  Nevertheless, there are some adaptions addressing
this in the CVS version. So, yes, distributors should rather grab the
CVS version than the old 5.5.
