Hi, I get the following errors and NEdit 5.5, from the ubuntu package 
distribution, dies.

You imply that it might be fixed in the codebase, but v5.5 is the latest I see 
available for download at nedit.org and on sourceforge

..it seems that there've been some commits to the code base in May, Mar, and 
Jan 2007.

Any news?

I suppose I can download it & compile & try...
