Language of the file

Hi all

I'm trying to create a script to do some work in my files (comment and
uncomment my code) but I don't know the Language Mode so I'm passing
the file path and using the file command of the shell to find out the
file Language.

Even that this is a good solution in 99% of the cases, isn't the
perfect one, nedit has this information.

How do I pass it into my script as argument?
