Nedit: problem with spell checker

Hi guys,

I am having a Mac PowerBok Pro, running under Mac OS X, version 10.4.9.
I am using Nedit version 5.5. Unfortunately the spell checker does  
not seem to work.
Has anyone faced this problem? Any solution?
