Curious about next version

The only difference today is that there is no leadership of the project.
There is nobody who says this patch goes in and this one does not.

I can recall that there were some sort of democratic votings in the past to
solve controversial questions.  Anyway, if you (I don't mean you personally)
like to have a next release you have to find at least several (one alone
won't do) folks working together to get things going.

   Does it mean that nedit is dead (or about to die) and that no more
   release will be available in a near future ?
   To my point of view, 2.5 years without any new release means that the
   project is dead.
   Should I consider that if I want new features to be added in my text
   editor, I should use gvim (tell me this is not true >:o ) ?
