Curious about next version

The only difference today is that there is no leadership of the project.  
There is nobody who says this patch goes in and this one does not.  

I can recall that there were some sort of democratic votings in the past to 
solve controversial questions.  Anyway, if you (I don't mean you personally) 
like to have a next release you have to find at least several (one alone 
won't do) folks working together to get things going.
