I have managed to upload things to Niki, and things are looking good. I've  
attached a copy of the pattern set as it is right now in this e-mail. The  
syntax highlighting, imo, is much better than the one currently available  
in the contrib/ area of nedit.org. [1] Also, it does not have any smart  
indenting at the moment, because I have not had time to make something  
that works, and the current macros distributed in the current scheme.pats  
file is broken.

As for still relevant, absolutely. :-) One of the benefits of having a  
Scheme mode for NEdit is so that user's who don't want to learn the beast  
of Emacs (or who are just learning CS, something where Scheem pops up  
rather often), can find a comfortable editor that makes it nice to program  
in Scheme. That's actually the reason I created this one.
