Installed Nedit on FC 6

I have an up-to-date FC 6 system.  I downloaded the nedit-5.5 tar file.  I copied both the nedit and nc executables to /usr/X11R6/bin.  When I try to run nedit, I get the following error:

nedit: error while loading shared libraries: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have libXP.so.4 on my system but no .6.  libXP.so.4 is provided by the RPM libXpm-devel-3.5.5-3.  I don't find any newer release of this libXpm-devel RPM on rpmseek.org.  

A message on this list said I should install xorg-x11-deprecated-libs RPM to solve the problem.  I only find this for FC 3 & 4.

Any idea how to get nedit installed?
