Is this your second set? I think I use your Ruby pattern set already,
but it's not marked, so I'm not sure. Could you add a README pattern
at the top of the list with version and author?
In case it's not your second set: There are already two Ruby pattern
sets I know of, please think long and hard before adding a third.

I would be happy if the main code tree would use SVN. I thought about
suggesting this after the release is done.

I think it's too complicated for pattern. Not every user is familiar
with SVN, and we should not add artificial barriers.
