syntax highlighting repository

he guys,

i am currently writing a syntax highlighting-up pattern for ruby, it's very
robust and may be considered as stable, but i always encounter some new
issues to treat and keep track of the pattern-file using svn.

i am wondering if there have been any thoughts on a svn-based highlighting
repository, so "developers" can update the pattern files and tag "stable"
versions. or is this too much overhead since patterns are not that
complicated?
anyway, lots of patterns on the ftp are incomplete or even ugly (a good start,
though ;-) - these could be improved via svn. same could apply to macros,
smart-ident, coloring, ... was there any discussion about it?

cheers,

	nick
