Nobody knows. NEdit has always been slow, lately is got glacial.

Because they were added after the last release? I absolutely disagree,
NEdit 5.5 already has a lot of very interesting features.

I disagree. There is a German proverb which translates to "Better and
end in terror than terror without end." This is not to say that
list_dialog() is horrible and should be changed, but in general even
important things can be broken in certain cases.
