Hello Thorsten,

well i'm getting confused now :)
Perhaps if i paint it a little in ascii art i can clarify which font adjustment i'm trying to adapt:

The Nedit window in my fc5 instance

 |adjustable with preferences   |

So, i'm trying to find some way to make the menu font size less dorky big in my KDE/fc5 for Nedit. The preferences which can be adjusted from within Nedit seem not to be able to influence it and in my KDE instance nor can the .Xresource .Xdefault Nedit.ap etc. settings. So perhaps i'm missing something pretty straightforward -
