Problem with paste on AMD64 Opteron

Here is the response to the "nedit -V" command on both machines.

(1) AMD64 Athlon   running in 32-bit mode on Ubuntu 6.06 under Gnome

Both packages probably use Lesstif, this being Debian. Can you do

nedit -V

on both machines and send the resulting output?
