Come on, people would pay money if this was a Photoshop filter.
Just to clear that up: This is only a visual effect? The documents are
as you expect them to be?

Any chance of binary mixup? Could you send us 'nedit -V' for both
versions?

Nope, but one of the toolkits might. (Or both, as it seems.)
