File->OPen file list does not highlight selection...

   I have the following nedit
   NEdit 5.5
   Sep 30, 2004
        Built on: Linux, 386, GNU C
        Built at: Oct  1 2004, 15:55:40
      With Motif: 2.1.30 [@(#)Motif Version 2.1.30]
   Running Motif: 2.1 [unknown]
          Server: Gentoo (The X.Org Foundation 6.8.2, revision
   r4-0.1.10.2) 60802000
          Visual: 16-bit TrueColor (ID 0x23, Default)
          Locale: C
   Running on my work system with KDE desktop, I select File->Open and
   get list of directory/files. If I select a directory or file it is NOT
   highlighted. Running nedit on the same system with remote x-server on
   FC3 linux system and gnome desktop, the  directory/file is
   highlighted.  Is this a xserver or desktop problem? Could I change
   some x-resource associated with highlighting (assuming there is one)
   the file/directory name to something else (perhaps different color) to
   get some indication that of what is selected?
