It's not the relatively trivial markup used for diffs, it's the conflict
of that markup between diff formats.

Ah yes, sorry. The trouble is in the context diff's first two lines,
which have their colouring reversed. The first one should be red and the
second one blue. I don't much like red as colouring for ^--- dividers
in normal and context diffs either. Perhaps there are more complicated
expressions which are more suitable, I'll think about it.
