Elastic tabstops

Hello,

First, thanks a lot for nedit. This is my editor of choice since a long time.
I particularly appreciate the possibility to do rectangular
selections, across several lines, and to move them with the middle
mouse button. I know it may sound childish, but I do think this is a
great feature ;-)

Anyway, I just subscribed to this discuss list after reading this article:

I searched the archives of the list (through the link in the wiki),
but could not find this subject already discussed.
What do you think of this feature? Could it be implemented in Nedit?
I would be nice, even as an option.

I wish I were a developper to propose it myself, but I am not good enough :-(
