A few things - it may be LessTif (send output nedit -V).  It may be that
the keyboard accelerator is broken, but the same function off the menu
works fine.  That can happen if you have some bad resources (some
decided, against our advice, to install a NEdit.ad file).

If you run "xclipboard", you can see if anything actually makes it into
the clipboard.
