Programming Tools for NEdit

Dear NEdit users,

a while ago I came across the programming tools in the "contrib"
directory of the FTP server. Thinking these tool might be quite useful,
I gave it a shot and tried to build them (on Solaris 8, running NEdit
5.5). After fiddling around with the makefiles and the source and
changing a thing here and there for a couple of days I still haven't had
much success. The problem seems to be that these tools seem to be
written for quite old versions of both Motif and NEdit. I think I
managed to accomodate the changes made to NEdit since then but there are
still some problems with Motif (most notably with the home-grown
ComboBox widget which is included with the tools).

Has anyone succeeded in building these tools more recently? I searched
the archive of this mailing list but didn't find anything appropriate. I
would also be willing  to bring the tools up-to-date if I get some help
regarding the Motif problems (as I know next to nothing about Motif
programming...).
