Auto-scroll not working in 5.5RC1

Just to be sure, you know that it doesn't auto-scroll at the top of the
file. That is, you have to page-down into the file to see any effect.
Also, auto-scrolling only occurs in reaction to keystrokes -- it won't
auto-scroll if you click to place the cursor near the screen's top or
bottom until you subsequently type something or hit an arrow key.
Basically, if you open a long file (more than two screens of text), hit
page-down, then up-arrow, auto-scrolling should occur. If it doesn't
then something has gone wrong.
