Auto-scroll not working in 5.5RC1

I've installed 5.5RC1, tabbed windows seem fine.

Can't get auto-scroll to work. I've activated it, it's saved in defaults
(~/.nedit), I added a nedit.autoScrollVPadding: 10 resource in case that
was the problem, came in and out many times while testing tabbed
windows. But no scrolling.

I used the nedit-5.5RC1-Linux-x86.tar.gz download.
