Limit on number of files opened in tabs

Both :-)
When I open the Windows menu, it looks like the menu goes off the edge
of the screen. However, if I tear-off the menu, it becomes a
well-defined rectangle, with about 40 files listed, and the rest
missing. I can't resize this window- I've tried.
