Yes I did, I just wasn't clear enough in my original question, sorry.

True, but I like working with the mouse. Sometime it is even quicker,
like when I want to jump to a file that is far away in the tab list,
so that ctrl+PageUp/Down would take longer.

I know I can tear off the Windows menu (just like any other menu), but
it still only shows some of the names (more than 40 or so files open,
with my screen resolution and font sizes - YMMV), not all, and no
scroll-bars or any other way to get to the "hidden" names.

Unless I can specify this from the command line, this is not
practical. Are you really suggesting I go through each file, choose
the Window menu -> Move Tab to... command? That would take ages!
Unless there is a "batch" method of doing this (e.g. select a group of
tab names to detach in the Windows menu), this is not practical.

No, I can't :-)
But I have worked on more than 50 files at a time, and if there is no
quick way to access them from the GUI, I think it hurts the
functionality. Plus I think some users would find this confusing- they
open the files, but don't see them in the list of names in the Windows
menu. Scrollbars (or something similiar) would help.

Final point, I think NEdit is great, and I totaly agree if you think
that having 50 or so open files at once is an edge case that few users
will encounter. But it's still there, and I'm pretty sure other people
like to work with many open files at once. Plus, I think trying to
solve this would help in ordinary cases as well, such as having the
ability to choose several names at once from the Windows list...
