5.5rc1 bug, cygwin: X resource nedit.findReplaceUsesSelection

With the X resource nedit.findReplaceUsesSelection: True 

Auto-copying a multi-line selection to the "String to Find" field of the
"Replace" dialog does not seem to be useful, IMHO. I think it would be more
useful if only selections NOT including a newline are auto-copied.

Furthermore, there seems to be a bug related to the multi-line auto-copy. If
"down-arrow" is hit in an attempt to clear the field, you get a beep and the
next line of the multi-line selection is displayed. If you keep pressing
down until a blank field appears and then enter text, the find will not work
and NEdit starts to act "flakey", suggesting some control structure has been
overwritten.
