That's fine, but it should show up in the version info as KNOWN-BAD, 
you should have had to define -DBUILD_BROKEN_NEDIT and you should have 
had to acknowledge a warning message asking you not to report bugs 
unless you could reproduce them on a known-good system.  I'm wondering 
if there's a bug in our code or you just ignored the warnings.
