It seems that Qt doesn't. At least it doesn't delete the selection.

shift-MB is not exactly the most well-known feature, so I think we should keep
the functionality as is. It is a sort of user error to do that from something
that is clearly read-only.
...and disabling shift-MB will make me unhappy because I use it between nedit
instances (no, I don't use 'nc').
