Nedit plugin for Eclipse developer framework

Sorry if I'm a spoilsport here, but what is supposed to be the point
if such a plugin?
Eclipse already comes with a fine editor which neither NEdit nor
anything else is
likely to supplant for any significant number of users, and if NEdit
is not up to the
task of developing NEdit stuff, wouldn't it be better to spend that
energy improving
it in that regard, rather than making plugins for other systems?
