Initial Comment:
Problem occurs when the status line is long enough to 
be truncated and you are moving around a file using 
cursor keys. The first time the position field grows, 
the last 'n' characters of the byte count is not 
displayed where 'n' is the number of characters the 
position field grew by.

The behaviour was probably fixed when the line/column field
was changed. Could you please check with NEdit 5.5?
