Summary: 5.4 rc2 problem with x-win32

Initial Comment:
When x-win32 is used as the xserver. All the text boxes
in dialog windows (search, replace, etc) are grey.
Although the user can input text into the text box, it
looks unnatural. I believe that this is a bug in x-win32,
because the text boxes are lighted in XFree86 xserver.
However, version 5.3 does not have this problem with x-
win32. If possible, please keep the 5.4 version working
with x-win32.
  Thank you.

Again, does the workaround help?

This is not the first system messing with NEdit's color. As
I understand this case, the textboxes are fully functional,
just not as pretty as you want to. Right?

Try if NEdit 5.5 shows the error. If that doesn't help try
to set the colors explicitly using X resources (see online
help and Niki for hints).

It seems that this has something to do with pseudo color. If
the pseudo color is turned off in x-win32, then the
background of the textbox is ok.

Please always give the output of nedit -V.
Moreover, where and how do you set your X resources?
