IMO, it doesn't matter much any more, the beast is already out of the cage.
Perhaps the more sensible thing to do is to educate the people on the 8-space
tabs plus, off topic, other NEdit coding convention & style - indentation,
braces, etc.

in case you are curious, there are 29279 hard tabs in the *.[ch] of REL-5-3.
